Who am I?

Now you might be wondering, who is this handsome feller on my screen?

Well, let’s start off simple. My name is Kienan Toy (the “ie” sounds like “eye”.) I was born long, long ago in the faraway lands of Alabama. My parents took me by caravan to my current residence in the great state of Kentucky when I was but a wee lad.

From a young age I showed interest in technology and artistic expression. My dad famously told me that I would always try to figure out how my toys worked after playing with them for a little bit, and that’s when he knew I would be an engineer. He was right, as you’ll see in a bit…

But how’s about his ed-ja-ma-catin’?

The honor of my ed-ja-ma-catin’ goes to my very own mother, who taught me at home K-12. My dad taught me pretty much everything else, along with the internet obviously. But seriously, my folks are freakin’ rad.

I started going to college before I even got out of high school through the dual credit program at Jefferson Community and Technical College. I’m now a college graduate with my Associates in Applied Science in Engineering and Electronics Technology with a focus in Computer Repair; I graduated at the end of the 2023-2024 Fall semester.

Like, what do you do?

I do a lot of stuff, really it depends on the day and what I feel like doing. As far as hobbies, I like to make music, and sometimes I take pictures, make videos and write stories, all of which you can see on my portfolio. I play a lot of video games and listen to music as well, so check out my Steam and Discogs profiles if you want to see what I’m into.

I’ve always liked taking things apart and figuring out how they work, which is why I think I like computers so much. In fact, I am a contractor for a local computer store where I get to work on computers and refurbish them to resell. I’m super grateful that I get paid to exercise my passion, and I hope to grow my own computer business, KTPC.

Q&A

I want to use your pictures or music for a project I’m working on.

As long as you’re not using any Aspiring Pilot Society songs, taking credit for my work or making money off it, I’m probably fine with it. Before you do though please email me.

I like what you’re doing and want to offer you work or order a commission.

Awesome! Definitely shoot me an email, all the info is on my Contact page. Keep in mind if you’re asking for free work I most likely will not accept unless I know you pretty well. Also keep in mind it might take me a while to get back to you, my schedule can be pretty packed, but that doesn’t mean I won’t accept any requests!

I don’t have any work to offer you, but I still want to support you somehow…

I don’t want anyone to feel like they’re obligated to give me money (obviously, since this info is buried in a FAQ page,) but if you really really like what I do and want to give back, you can support me by buying my music on Bandcamp or sending me a tip through PayPal. Thanks, you’re awesome.

Where can I find you?

Not a lot of places, actually. I left a lot of social medias a while back for the sake of my own mental health. All my official links are at the bottom of the page.

Do you collect anything?

I collect CDs, vinyl, vintage computers, and vintage cameras. I have a Discogs profile I update whenever I get new additions to my music collection.

What’s your favorite video game?

My favorite game of all time is Super Mario Galaxy 2. I could talk about it all day, but I just think it’s a magical game and it basically defined my childhood from 2010 on.

Right now though, the game I play the most is Splatoon 3.

Do you stream?

I used to have a Twitch channel but I’ve since deleted it because I disagree with some of their practices. I might get back to streaming on YouTube someday when I have more free time.

Favorite band?

Twenty One Pilots.

What are your PC specs?

Peep the Computer page!

You seem like a pretty artistic guy. Do you draw?

I don’t like to talk about it 😅

But seriously, I’ve tried drawing, even taken a few sketching classes, it’s just not something I can do and really be proud of the finished product. I’m fine with it though, it’s just not my medium of choice. That won’t stop me from doodling all over my notebook in Physics class though.
